Dai Ze, born in 1922 in Yunyang, Sichuan, returned to China with his parents in the same year. Dai Ze has loved painting since childhood. In 1942, he was admitted to the Art Department of National Central University and studied under famous artists such as Xu Beihong, Lu Sibai, Fu Baoshi, Huang Xianzhi, Qin Xuanfu, Xie Zhiliu, and Chen Zhifo. From 1946 to 1949, he was invited by Mr. Xu Beihong to go north to Beiping to serve as a teaching assistant and lecturer at the National Beiping Art College. In 1950, he became a lecturer at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Senior Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Democratic League Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, Member of the China Artists Association, Supervisor of Xu Beihong's Studio at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Advisor to the Xu Beihong Painting Academy in China, Honorary Principal of Beijing 101 Art Vocational High School. The works have been exhibited at Chinese art exhibitions in the Soviet Union, Germany, and Poland. Holding a solo exhibition: 1992 Beijing Hotel VIP Building; 1995 New York International Center for Culture and Arts; 1998 Beijing Chaoyang District Cultural Center. Multiple works have been collected by institutions such as the National Art Museum of China and the Museum of Chinese History. Mr. Dai Ze passed away on September 13, 2023 at 4:30 pm in Beijing due to illness, at the age of 101.
